President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has affirmed her intention to seek a seat in the Philippine Lower House as the congresswoman of the 2nd district of Pampangga
Mga kababayan, lubusang karangalan at pribilehiyo para sa akin na maglingkod bilang Pangulo. Gumawa tayo ng malalaking pagsulong sa ekonomiya, edukasyon, ugnayang pandaigdigan, at paglikha ng trabaho.
But I’m very much looking forward to stepping down as President at the end of my term.

Getting the right ballots to the right polling precinct
Philippine poll automation has been severely challenged and beset with questions that indicate doubt rather than interest.
While it has already gotten past the first Supreme Court petition questioning the legality of Smartmatic-TIM’s bid to supply the Comelec with an automated election system, the questions now revolve around not only whether it will indeed deliver the 82,000 machines to every polling precinct — but more importantly, will the right ballots be delivered to the right precinct.

Former President Joseph Estrada is set to file his certificate of candidacy today.
According to an article from Malaya:
Estrada’s group and their supporters will hear mass at around 9 a.m. at the Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila in observance of Bonifacio Day.
Estrada will unveil the party’s platform while Binay will speak on good governance.
After the program, the party will march to the Comelec via Taft ave. and Intramuros.
As of last night, there are 51 candidates for president, four for vice president and 66 for senator.

What is a platform of governance?
Bloggers have been bugging Senator Noynoy Aquino to come up with a platform of governance since the day he announced that he was running for President. The online clamor for those aspiring for President to present a platform is a very good sign and shows that some Filipinos are really trying to get other Filipinos to look beyond appeals to emotions and platitudes.
A platform of governance, by its most basic description, is a declaration of principles and policies adopted by a political party or a candidate. In other countries, platforms are quite specific and defines the character of the candidacy itself.
